How to Deal with Satanists & Witches
I have been blessed to fellowship with Pastor Jacob Khabenga from Nairobi Kenya, on a regular basis over Facebook and email.
During his time overseeing some churches, Pastor Jacob has had several run-ins with Satanists and witches over the years, and has graciously answered many questions I've posed to him. What follows this sentence is Pastor Jacob in his own words:
I have prayerfully sought to get the Lord's guidance in trying to answer your questions and I know that the Lord's revelation is always progressive and He will build tomorrow on what he has made known to us today.
1. What is a Satanist?
A Satanist is any person who chooses to follow and worship Satan and oppose Jesus Christ.
2. What is the difference between a Satanist and a witch?
All witches are Satanists but not all Satanists are witches. Witchcraft is a department in Satanism, specialising in releasing curses, vexes, and hexes upon victims. There are other departments of Satanism such as the political department specialising in positioning Satanic political leaders strategically to promote a global Satanic agenda. Most prominent politicians and powerful people of the earth belong here.
There is the financial department which has prominent business people, large multinationals, banks etc. Satan aims at controlling global finances. It is the work of this department to make Satanists rich and keep Christians poor.
The next department is that of arts/sciences which includes reknown scholars, thinkers, inventors, media, sports, music, and cinema and fashion stars. Hollywood leads the world in this category. Satan is able to shape culture, exalt his evil agenda, harden hearts of men, lure many into Satanism through this department. Most popular broadcasters on TV radio, musicians, movie stars, and sports champions belong here. It is the evangelism arm of Satanism.
The other department is that of false prophets, religions and faiths. This department invents Satanic faiths, which range from mild to extreme groupings . Any faith which does not believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross as the only means of salvation of mankind belongs here. False Christian teachers, false televangelists, false miracle workers belong here. Most so called 'prophets' of this day belong here. Important to note that false prophets have infiltrated deep into the evangelical and charismatic movement working counterfeit miracles today leading many astray.
3. Do Satanists and witches have real power to heal, secure blessings and curse people?
Several scriptures in the Bible indicate that Satan gives power to his followers. Examples range from the showdown between Moses and Jannes and Jambres before Pharaoh's court in Exodus 7:10-12, the witch of Endor visited by King Saul in 1 Samuel 28 and the Lord's own charge to us in Luke 10:19 ...
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. - Bible Offline
Notice the phrase ...AND OVER ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY
These scriptures confirm that witches have power, but to heal? Secure blessings? Curse people? From my experience in spiritual combat, their power is designed to destroy not to build up, therefore they don't heal but instead exchange disease with good health by their withcraft. So one person's disease is loaded upon another healthy person and vice versa.
In the same way they steal blessings using their power and give it to their followers and take curses and load them upon inocent unsuspecting victims. Many people suffer under this kind of oppression. (Ezekiel 13:18-23) The wicked derive their riches and success in this manner. That's why the scriptures instruct us to take over the wealth of the wicked because it wasn't theirs in the first place.
4. Am I not protected from curses as a Christian?
Legally yes, under the New Covenant every Born Again believer is protected from curses and Satanic activities. This was ratified at the cross of Christ and sealed by the resurrection, but it is the duty of every believer to implement and enforce it through gaining knowledge by the reading of the Word (the Bible), prayer, exercising faith, walking in authority, and battling the Devil.
5. I am saved by grace so why do I need to oppose witches and Satanists in Jesus name?
They will come against every believer, to supplant blessings with their curses, sow disease and take away good health. They know that when Christians pray blessings descend and they need these blessings, that's why they will do their best to keep believers ignorant of the Word, preoccupied with distractions like T.V. and worldly indulgences made by their followers, and forget to guard that which has been committed to them.
The Lord knew we must fight them that's why He equipped us in Luke 10:19. Apostle Paul elaborates it further in 1Cor 10:4-6 and Ephesians 6:10-18.
Good to note that the Satanic rulers of Ephesians 6:12 have been in operation before we get saved in our villages, cities and localities and unless you overcome them by prayer and fasting they will seek to oppress you financially, physically, and spiritually.
The Lord referred to them as strongmen.
No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.
They horde and guard jealously souls of men in their area of Satanic jurisdiction, unless a preacher overcomes them, his preaching will be in vain with no fruits of salvation. Unless a Christian overcomes them his life will be miserable with hardship after hardship.
But victory over them brings Revival, and allows the church and Christians to prosper and the preaching of the Gospel becomes more receptive. Ever wondered why in some cities the Gospel is vehemently opposed and Christians there live in oppression while other cities receive the gospel gladly and Christians there prosper? This is why.
It is the duty of the church within that vicinity to fight, and overcome, bind, and subdue the Satanic strong men that they reign not over them, and Revival follows.
6. What must I do to prepare to come against the power of a Satanist or a witch?
- Know the word
- Know your authority in Christ
- Have faith
- Be bold
- Always give glory to Jesus
- Stay under the blood of Jesus
- Pray and fast .
7. Fasting? How important is fasting?
Fasting is the ultimate sacrifice of prayer while living in the body. It humbles the heart, subdues the flesh and sharpens the spirit to receive from Christ. Fasting is digging deep into things of God. Mark 9:29 declares that some kinds of demons can not leave except by fasting and prayer. That means that some challenges, problems and troubles are better tackled through fasting and prayer.
8. How important is holiness in the life of the Christian?
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
1 Peter 1:16
Holiness or living clean is vital in walking with Christ. The reward of holiness is seeing God which is our highest desire. Things that one must do or not do in obedience to Christ may nor relate directly to holiness. Obeying His commandments confirms your obedience and faithfulness. Holiness is a result of a Spirit filled life. When the Holy Spirit fills a believer, He imparts in that believer grace to live clean and be separated from anything that defiles.
9. Why do the effects of curses sometimes take time to go away?
Faith of the believer is the determining factor.
...According to your faith be it unto you.
If a believer has faith for the now, curses and their effects will dissappear in the now. But if, like Pharaoh during the plague of the frogs, has the tomorrow kind of faith, curses and their effects might take time. Remember Christ finished it all 2000 years ago on the cross. We are to walk into the realities of the finished work of Christ on the cross by only believing, so the kind of faith one has will decide the timing of the outcome.
10. What kind of attitude do I need when praying against curses?
- All curses are reversible
- All curses are breakable in the name of Jesus
- Curses are temporary but blessings are permanent
- Curses have an expiry date unless renewed by the enemy
- Christ delivered us from the most powerful curse of them all -- the curse of the law -- by becoming a curse for us.
11. What is needed in prevailing prayer?
Prevailing prayer must have all that I shared above with one more thing, namely, persistence.
The devil easily wears out impatient praying. Remember the Bible says the Devil knows his time is short, in other words he is timed out.
The last thing he can stand is a saint willing to wait for ever for answers to prayer. To easily outwit the Devil just out wait him in persistent prayer.
