Is Baptism Necessary for Salvation? Yes!
Because Jesus said it is necessary!
Water baptism is essential, don't let anyone kid you with high-minded nonsense.
1 Peter 3:21 - This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you--not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ
Acts 2:38 - Repent and be baptized for the remission of sins.
Acts 22:16 - Be baptized and wash away your sins.
Romans 6:4 - Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Galatians 3:27 - For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Luke 3:3 - And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;
It is God's promise to us that just as the flood gave new life to the earth, baptism brings new life to you.
Mark 16:16 - He that believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believes not shall be damned.
Only someone who has been to seminary could twist Mark 16:16 into anything but the clearest of commands to get baptized. I trust the King James translators knew better than modern "scholars."
Jesus took all our sins of the world upon Himself on the cross, and we also need to get baptized.
Please do not try and minimize the importance of water Baptism. It too is necessary as an act of obedience to Jesus, who said we MUST be baptized (immersed, not sprinkled) into water, and by the Holy Spirit.
Look at water Baptism as a required ticket for entry into an exclusive club, which also privileges you to live a new life free from sin.

How the 2nd & 3rd Generation Christians Viewed Baptism
Justin Martyr was born at Flavia Neapolis (near today's Nablus, Israel), about 100 A.D.. He converted to Christianity about 130 A.D.. Justin taught and defended the Christian faith in Asia Minor and at Rome, where he suffered martyrdom about 165 A.D..
Justin Martyr tells us about Baptism in his Apologetic writings.
Regarding baptism, Justin tells us both how it was celebrated and what was its significance (Apol., c. 61). The baptisands are instructed to pray and fast for the remission of the sins that
are past, the Christians praying and fasting with them. They are then taken to a place where
there is water, and are regenerated ‘in the same manner as we have been regenerated.’
They receive the washing in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The significance
of the ceremony was learned from the apostles. It is to secure the remission of sins
formerly committed. It is also called illumination, because it effects the enlightenment of the
understanding of those who are washed.
These Are Just Some Lies That Some Denominations Are Teaching About Baptism
The Word of God says:
“He who believes and is baptized will be saved“
- Mark 16:16
Denominations falsely teach:
He who believes and is saved, should be baptized
The Word of God says:
“Repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins”
- Acts 2:38
Denominations falsely teach:
Repent and be baptized because your sins have already been forgiven
The Word of God says:
‘Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.’
- John 3:5
Denominations falsely teach:
Baptism is not essential for salvation. This “birth of water” is natural childbirth.
The Word of God says:
“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death,
so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father we too might walk in newness of life.”
- Romans 6:4
Denominations falsely teach:
They don't know baptism transforms you into a 2 Corinthians 5:17 new creature, so they don't emphasize its importance.
The Word of God says:
“There is one body, and one Spirit,
even as you are called in one hope of your calling;
One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
One God and Father of all, who is above all, and
through all, and in you all.”
- Ephesians 4:45
Denominations falsely teach:
There are many baptisms and many bodies, and many faiths.
