Some of them transformed society so radically that police were virtually unneeded ... so they served as Gospel choirs, bars would close, debts were repaid, miners stopped swearing, and everyone loved everyone.
By the 1990s, the last major revival period for the USA was the 1950s. We're way overdue.
If you see the USA getting crazy, it's because it's been a good long time since Jesus visited the USA, and that's the Church's fault, not the fault of unbelievers.
WE CHRISTIANS with our false doctrines, loving of money, lies, divorces and remarriages into Luke 16:18 adultery, and our arrogance, keep Jesus away, and thus the unbelievers don't come to Jesus, and lying damnable doctrines like "Once Saved Always Saved" become mainstream, and it's anything goes, and people think it's OK, and their sin is OK, and it's not OK in the eyes of God.
I also was horrified when the Rodney King verdict was handed down. It was so very clear that those cops had totally lost it, even if the baton blows didn't all connect when you watched that video frame by frame.
I was incredulous and angry over Rodney King. It was so obvious that justice had been denied. They even lied on the police report IIRC. Totally over the line, and a total violation of the public trust.
But dare I say the extravagant travesty inflicted on Rodney King can't be reliably linked with skin color. Ezekiel 8:17 Psalm 9:17 and 2 Chronicles 7:14 say so. It's godless wickedness that inflict such ghastliness on us.
Ever hear of Kelly Thomas? I can't remember any other time I wept over a news article. Six fully armed police beat a schizophrenic 37 year old Kelly Thomas to death, deliberately:
he said he was sorry, the beating continued
as he was restrained, the beating continued,
he called for mercy, the beating continued
he said he couldn't breathe, the beating continued
he begged them to stop, the beating continued
they used their tasers for 30+ seconds, the beating continued
he called out for his dad, the beating continued
his cries grew weaker, the beating continued
They beat him into a pool of blood and a coma, and they disconnected life support days later.
1) he was white
2) it's all on video
3) the cops were declared "not guilty"
So, please, if you thought that Rodney King got an exceptionally raw deal due only to the color of his skin, please know that Kelly Thomas died a far sadder death, where his white skin color didn't save him, and neither did video secure the conviction of his murderers.
